Us Masters
Chaps

My brother is 40 next year and we have always said we would go to Augusta to watch the Masters. I have been shocked at the cost and wondered if anyone had been before and what they recommend?

At the moment most golf travel companies are quoting £4k each for 3 nights in a hotel and tickets for 2 days of the golf. If you want to see all 4 days you are looking at about £7k each.

Any past experience would be much appreciated

Re: Us Masters
Flannel, a mate of mine had it on his bucket list and did it last year. The ads you see during the masters say prices from £2,295 or something like that but that includes flights, a few nights stay and one ticket for either Thurs or Fri. My mate did the whole VIP bit which cost about £9K I think but he stayed for a week, saw all four days plus the par 3 comp and was in the VIP area and had a picture taken with Danny Willett in his green jacket. My view is, if you are going to go, break the bank and do it in style mate. Enjoy it if you do go, the place is awesome.

Just been on google and searched under Masters packages - coming up with sites such as Golfbreaks.com and yourgolftravel .

Any recommendations of cheaper sites you know of then it would be appreciated!

Stay in Atlanta. Go to Buck Head or Virginia Highlands and The Gold Club. Drink Sierra Nevada beer.

Great place. Miss it so much.

Drive 200 miles to Augusta.

Bet on Jon Rahm to win it at 50/1

Flannel, I'm assuming you'll get in for the Thursday and Friday? I'd still do it if I had the money as it'll be a great experience. the one thing that would put me off is the patrons and their seats round certain holes. especially amen corner where it looks almost impossible to follow a group

No idea how to get round the ticket prices tho.

Think outside the box . Fly to a different airport and rent a van/motor home.

Book a hotel 50 odd miles away and take it in turns to drink and drive .

Or suck up the price - if you only do it once in the grand scheme of things it ain't that expensive.
